Why this matters

72% of 401(k) participants have not adjusted investments since enrollment.

For many people, a 401(k) becomes one of their largest retirement assets. But after enrollment, it can sit in the background for years. Contributions continue, statements arrive, and the balance moves, but that does not always mean the account is being actively reviewed or professionally managed. Power My 401(k) is built to help employees grow one of the most powerful tools you offer.

Bison Wealth Company Story

Bison Wealth is one of the fastest growing RIAs in the U.S.

Bison was founded on a simple belief: families benefit from three core principles: Plan, Protect and Prosper.

Founded by the Terry and Kim Pegula Family Office, East Asset Management, in partnership with Teton Capital Partners, founded by Brad Ball and his team, Bison was created to bring sophisticated wealth management to more families.

As the Pegula family’s wealth grew, they gained access to financial expertise and resources typically available only through private family offices.

Bison was built to bring that level of expertise to more families, helping them plan for their future, protect what they’ve built and prosper.

Questions

The answers most companies want to know.

If something isn’t covered here, we’re happy to answer any questions you may have.
What is the employer being asked to do?
The first conversation is to determine whether your current plan offers an SDBA and what the plan requires. It does not change your plan or require your company to recommend Bison.

If their plan makes an SDBA available and they are eligible, employees may be able to work with Bison within their existing 401(k). Bison manages participating accounts through its approved investment models, subject to the plan, brokerage account, and advisory-program rules.

No. Nothing rolls over or moves out. Management happens through a brokerage account that lives inside the 401(k) you already have.

Bison’s advisory fee is 0.75% of assets managed. Other plan, brokerage, investment, and account fees apply, and total annual costs can be up to 1.95% depending on the plan and account. Participants receive the applicable fee disclosures before enrolling.

No. Bison can work with eligible employees inside the company’s existing 401(k) plan. A provider change, plan change, rollover, or transfer is not required.
No. Your company can keep its current plan, payroll process, match structure, and contribution policies. Bison’s role is limited to managing investments for employees who choose to participate.
Bison works directly with participating employees, including their individual review and ongoing investment management. The employer continues to offer its existing 401(k) plan as usual.

Yes, we also consult on and manage other employer sponsored defined contribution retirement plans, such as 403(b), 457(b), 401(a), SIMPLE IRA and Profit-Sharing plans.
